Apple on iOS 4.3.5 and iOS 4.2.10 to Repair Security Vulnerability
Posted by iunlock on Thursday Aug 18, 2011 Under NewsApple just recently released the iOS 4.3.5 for the iPod Touch, the iPad and the iPhone. This goes the same for iOS 4.2.10 for the Verizon iPhone to be able to repair a vulnerability in the security level when there is a need for the validation of the certificate. This release of the software for iOS was a surprise and it was just about a week when they have released the iOS 4.2.9 and the iOS 4.3.4. This was to fix the one made by Comex for JailbreakMe 3.0.
The changes that were included in the iOS are the following:
- It fixes the security vulnerability for the validation of certificate.
- The potential attacker would have a privileged position in the network that would modify data and information in sessions that are all protected by the TLS/SSL
- The issue is addresses through an improved chain of validation of the x.509 certificate since other attacks for this certificate may be made possible.
The iOS 4.3.5 supports iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 and 2, iPod Touch 4G and 3G; while the iOS 4.2.10 shows support to the Verizon iPhone 4. If you are not just the type who is concerned with the jailbreaking techniques, then you can just update your phone with these iOS by going to iTunes and use the direct download links.
One from the iPhone development team gave a warning to numerous jailbreakers that they must stay clear from the iOS 4.2.10 and iOS 4.3.5 since you will be exposed to the security vulnerability.
