It was in DailyTech which was first revealed that an ex-executive from the Apple company said that the company is set to reveal a television that will be powered by the iOS. This would most likely happen as early as this fall according to the rumors.
In fact, the source of this news even said that it would be so great to walk out of an Apple store carrying a television. This seems to be showing the plans of Apple wanting to beat the rest of the guys in the market like Netflix. They would most probably bundle up their latest television design with their very own iTunes right inside those television tubes.
The news said that the company is teaming it up with a leading supplier which everyone’s guess so far would be Samsung Electronics. But of course the physical television sets will be rebranded to Apple as their own television sets. This is not the very first time that we hear rumors like this about the popular company. It was in 2009 when there were reports first about this possibility.
And then an analyst from Ticonderoga Securities by the name of Brian White reported just last April about Apple possibly launching a Smart TV which he got information from in a trade show for China electronics. According to the source, the company is set to launch the iOS powered new product this fall or maybe even experience some delays to reach the known high standards of the company.

There is a job vacancy in Apple as the company is looking for people who will work on the next generation power supply technology. The job listing goes like this:
“You will be part of pride developing innovative designs, which are implemented in products used by millions of people. The position primarily involves high-density offline power supply’s development for Apple’s next generation Macintosh platforms spanning from notebook computers, desktop computers, servers, standalone displays and TV.”
It is important to note that in the ad, Apple differentiated the standalone displays and TV’s by clubbing them separately in the listing. The job listing then led to numerous speculations that Apple could be working on the Apple TV, the area where Apple has not been able to conquer much. This is not the first time that we will hear rumors about speculations that Apple is planning to make its own brand of TV.
In 2009, there were reports about the possibility including a report from Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Muster who commented that this is a possibility. This recent post relives the speculations again. If you will check the job listing again, there is a slight change in the job posting. Apple has edited the earlier job description and the “TV” bit has been changed to “Apple TV”.
What do you think of the idea of playing your favorite games on the Apple Television with iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch as the controller? Are you not excited? We would love Apple to make their own TV set.
