The very popular tool used for jailbreaking will soon expose a brand new version t jailbreak the iPad 2. What we are talking about here is Comex, which is the developer of JailbreakMe. They have even revealed lately that they have lessened the time to jailbreak an iOS device with the use of the unionfs method instead of the usual stashing means, common to most jailbreaking tools. However, the users of iPad who is interested with using JailbreakMe should be patient enough to wait some more time before they can get used to it.

Comex has even shared some information about how its performance will improve. With the usual stashing approach that the jailbreak has been utilizing for years now include the movement of a lot of huge directories from the small to the large partitions. This ensures that there are free space created right outside the directories. However, it also has its own issues with the process taking on forever before you can finally jailbreak it.

But with the unionfs, new files are created in the partitions so that there will no files to be moved there will be no descriptors that would remain invalidated. It also opens the opportunity to upgrade the base operating system without ruining the jailbreak files. What the developer is just working on too at present is to avoid the crashes that still get in the way of the code of the unionfs for it to be eventually fixed for the kernels of iPad 2.
