iPhone 4 users are clamoring against Apple’s fixed proximity sensor issue. According to the iOS 4.1 release notes, the “super-sensitive” proximity sensor on iPhone 4 made calls to be unintentionally dialed, hung up or muted without the user’s content. It appeared that the iOS 4.1 software update is unable to fix the issue for all users. If you are still experiencing some problems with the proximity sensor then it is best to check out the jailbreak app CallLock.

CallLock is an application available in the Cydia App Store that locks the phone when there is an incoming or outgoing call. With your phone locked, it minimizes the possibility of hitting many buttons that may cause the trouble you are experiencing. After installing the jailbreak app from Cydia, you can select the mode from the Settings. Choose CallLock that can be accessed via Settings app. You can simply choose from Manual Mode to Automatic Mode.

In Manual Mode, CallLock will override the function of the Power button during a call to lock the screen instead of ending a call. In Automatic Mode, CallLock will automatically lock the phone as soon as there is an incoming or outgoing call. The manual mode is the default setting. This application is very useful for users who are still encountering proximity sensor issue.
