How to Get Verizon Unlimited Data Plan to Your iPhone

Posted by unlocker under Jailbreak on Saturday Jan 28, 2012

Just like the network AT&T, Verizon followed its footsteps in killing its unlimited data plans for their smartphone consumers like iPhone last July 7, 2011. However, it seems that the users figured out how to trick the system and get unlimited data plan.
Verizon customers are still enjoying unlimited data plans even after the network killed the service. Surprisingly, the trick also works on iPhone bought even after the unlimited data plan is no longer offered by the network.
People from Slick Deals posted on the forum how to get the unlimited data plan for your Verizon smartphone. Follow the step-by-step guide below. However, one must remember that even if the method works for you, Verizon has the power to put you back on a tiered data plan at any time.
1. Dial *611 from your Verizon phone, or 1-800-922-0204 from any phone.
2. Wait for computer CSR to go through the main menu. You will need your Verizon phone # and account PIN or last 4 of SSN.
3. Hit option 4.
4. When it asks you what you would like to do today say “Add a feature.”
5. If you have a 3G device (which includes all iPhones): Say you would like to add the $20 2GB 3G Mobile Hotspot FEATURE to your phone If you have a 4G device: Say you would like to add the $30 Unlimited 4G Mobile Hotspot FEATURE to your phone. According to http://stopthecap.com/2011/07/12/…r-account/ , they may be able to locate this feature via referencing feature code #76153.
6. Your data plan will now be the $29.99 unlimited data plan, and you’ll have either the 2GB or unlimited Mobile Hotspot feature on top of that.
7. {OPTIONAL – if you don’t want the Mobile Hotspot feature} Log into My Verizon and remove the Mobile Hotspot FEATURE from your account. Many people recommend waiting a few days (at a minimum) to remove the feature. The $29.99 unlimited data plan should remain on your account.
8. If they say they can’t add that feature to your plan, or that you must bundle your data + mobile hotspot service together as a single data plan, tell them thank you, hang up, and repeat the steps above.
No sanctions were reported that are dropped by Verizon to customers hacking their way to get unlimited data plans. However, everyone is advised to proceed on their own risk.

A group of hackers and developers iPhone Dev Team recently released a new version of Redsn0w that can fix the launchctl issue.
The long wait finally over. Both iPhone hackers and developers iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team both released their untethered jailbreaks for Apple’s newest mobile operating system, iOS 5.0.1. The organizations released Redsn0w and Corona iOS 5.0.1 Untether, respectively.
The two can perform untethered jailbreaks in various Apple devices such as iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G and the first generation of iPad.
According to the blog of iPhone Dev Team, “The b2 version of redsn0w includes the launchctl-related fix by @planetbeing as mentioned by @saurik here and here. As usual, you can just re-run redsn0w in jailbreak mode over your existing 5.0.1 jailbreak (even a PwnageTool one), making sure to de-select “Install Cydia” if you do. Always be sure to do a controlled “slide to power off” shutdown of your device before running redsn0w.”
If you have installed Corona iOS 5.0.1 Untethered v1.0-3 that was released yesterday, there is no need to rerun Redsn0w in your handset. Also, if you have already jailbroken your device, you can simply run this new release right over the top of your current jailbreak, however, be sure to uncheck the “install cydia” option when you get to that screen. Otherwise, if you are on a stock firmware, leave “install Cydia” checked.
However, some users who had used Corona iOS 5.0.1 untether to convert their tethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak to untethered jailbreak or used Redsn0w to perform the untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak had reported issues with some jailbreak apps. Moreover, a number of people are reporting that issues arise after rerunning Redsn0w.
Remember to back up your phone before doing the procedure to ensure that your files will not be lost and ensure that you are running on the latest iTunes. Also, jailbreaking your phone will void the warranty of your handset. Thus, proceed at your own risk.
