One of the best apps probably would be SBSettings as it offers a feaster way to access the iOS devices settings of any app without the need of exiting the app and launching the Settings app. To overcome the hassle is one of the reasons why people are jailbreaking their Apple devices.
If you are one of the people who do not want to jailbreak their iOS device but also want to have a shortcut in accessing the settings, iPhone Addict’s Clay Russel figured outs how to create custom shortcuts for settings toggle that you can access in your homescreen without the need of jailbreaking your device.
It is not, of course, a replacement for SBSettings. However, it provides an easy access to your important settings toggles. Here is the step-by-step process in creating custom home screen shortcuts for settings toggles:
1. Download the app “Icon Project” in iTunes for 99 cents.
2. Launch the app.
3. Create a custom icon using the options available in the app such as selecting the icon, the background etc.
4. Tap on the select Type and Select URL (Homepage) from the options.
5. You will be redirected to enter URL. You need to enter the shortcut URL of the appropriate settings toggle:
You can use the shortcut URLs for the various Settings toggles as mentioned below:

Wi-Fi — prefs:root=WIFI
6. Click on “Create”
7. You will be redirected to a web page that displays your icon.
8. Tap on share button and tap on Home Screen to add the custom toggles to your iOS device’s home screen.
9. You will be redirected to add the name for your home screen icon and that you are the one who done it.
When you tap on the homescreen icon, it will open the Settings app and take you directly to the relevant Settings page to enable or disable the toggle.

Apple recently released the 5.0.1 version of their mobile operating system.
The Apple iOS 5.0.1 can be used in different Apple devices (iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4th generation, iPod Touch 3rd generation, iPad and iPad 2).
According to the press statement of the iOS 5.0.1, the mobile operating system fixed and cleared the bugs found in the initial version. It fixes the bug that affects the battery life, resolves the bug in the documents in the iCloud, improves the voice recognition for Australian users using dictation, adds security improvements as well as multitasking feature for the original iPad.
The iOS 5 also fixes the smart cover security flaw in the iPad 2. They also said that the new version of t Apple’s mobile operating system was able to fix the battery life issues.
Apple received a lot of complain from users for the new iOS 5. The complaints varied from shortened battery life, Siri not working to users with a different accent up to audio bugs that affect calls. iOS 5 was released last month along with Apple’s new storage system – iCloud. Apple boasted that the iOS 5 is equipped of more than 200 new features.
Recently we reported that a bug found in the iOS 5 can paved the way for an untethetered jailbreak. An iPhone hacker from Chronic Dev Team found a bug in the newest mobile operating system of Apple that may yield to an untethered jailbreak.
Pod2g announced this latest development via Twitter, “Hey jailbreaking friends, I’ve found a bug that can untether iOS 5. Don’t expect a release soon, but I’m gonna work hard in it.”
There is no definite description of the bug and how and where it was found. The details are still kept under wraps by the Chronic Dev Team. It is yet to be confirmed whether the bug also exists in iOS 5.0.1 beta that Apple gave to developers of the iOS developer program. It is also unclear on which specific Apple devices the upcoming untethered jailbreak will run smoothly.
There is no definite date as to when the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 will be released. However, the Chronic Dev Team is closer in achieving this goal and they will probably release an updated version of greenpois0n – popular jailbreak tool.
Grab the newest version of the iOS 5 via OTA update that was introduced in the iOS 5.
However, there are people who cautioned Apple users to do not upgrade to the latest version yet. MuscleNerd of the iPhone dev team has warned jailbreakers and unlockers to avoid upgrading to iOS 5.0.1. He said via Twitter: “Jailbreakers and unlockers should avoid today’s 5.0.1 until a flow for downgrading to 5.0 is developed.”
